Specialist Resource Provision

Mrs Lincoln, Lead teacher

Oakley School has an SRP (Specialised Resource Provision) that supports pupils whose primary area of need on their EHCP is social, emotional and mental health (SEMH). This is led by a qualified teacher (Mrs Lincoln) and supported with a team of TA’s. The priority is for pupils to access education in a setting that is supportive to their needs and allows them to access specialised provision with the opportunity to attend mainstream lessons too.

Pupils who need the provision provided by the SRP will be accessing a bespoke curriculum that includes a focus on developing their SEMH skills through targeted and specialist programmes. They will access a curriculum that works alongside the mainstream curriculum and complete lessons in English, Maths, Character & Culture, Online Safety & Computing, Food & Nutrition, PE, Art, Protective Behaviours, Mindfulness, Social Skills and additional PSHE provision that focuses on developing SEMH skills and strategies. Alongside these subjects, pupils will access project weeks, festivals and celebrations which will include Geography, History, Science, DT, Philosophy, French and Music, where they will participate in intense learning weeks focused on different projects within these curriculum areas that also include wider opportunities in the local community.

Pupils will have access to multiple spaces throughout the school to enrich their provision and provide the spaces they need for a safe and successful day. This will include workspaces, a calm space, sensory room, roof garden, outside areas and sensory circuit & sport areas.
