| Salt lake Volunteer Council-Life Care a non-profit organization working to improve the quality of independent living of individuals with disabilities and the elderly through yard work, house maintenance and food deliveries through the Salt Lake Food Bank. |
Our Work: -assisting the elderly and individuals with disabilities to maintain independent and healthy lifestyles through assistance with food deliveries and landscape maintenance. Hours: 3,000 + logged student hours |

Our Work: -participation includes but is not limited to: framing, concrete foundation preparation, and finishing work. -students work side by side with Shawn West, the General Contractor as well as the families working on their future homes as a community effort. Hours: 1,500 student/staff hours |

| Empty Bowls Project Empty Bowls is a project to help provide support for food banks, soup kitchens and other food banks that fight hunger. Students design and make the bowls for the project and then provided different soups to raise money for various services. |
Our Work: -Over a period of ten weeks the students created 128 bowls -through the integration of their artistic ability and the involvement of the Oakley community the students raised $980.00 that was distributed to The Kids Café and The Heifer Project. Hours: 900 hours art studio time Students prepared/assisting in the production of an Empty Bowls Banquet held on-campus each December |

Center for Women and Children ![]() The Center for Women and Children provides a supportive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and self-determination. It allows for a supportive environment while overcoming a drug or alcohol addiction. |
Our Work: -Students baked for seasonal holidays -Students spent time playing games and interacting with the women and children -take part in group discussions with women at center Hours: 1,000 hours |

| The Wentworth An assisted living center located in Oakley, Utah for the elderly. Providing assistance, housing and sustainable living. |

Courage Reins

Our Work: Courage Reins The Oakley School aids in everything from helping with lessons to ensuring the chores at the barn are completed. Sometimes this includes grooming horses, cleaning tack, feeding horses, cleaning stalls, or the barn in general. All modules volunteer for either one or two module days, usually averaging six hours a day for a six or seven week span. Hours: 1,500+ hours of student/staff participation |

Our Work: -The student body, teachers, house coaching staff and therapists participated in a four-day trail and campground restoration project in the Moab Valley. -This is the largest community service project The Oakley School has completed and we look forward to another rewarding year next spring. ![]() The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act was created to help preserve our rivers from being dammed, channelized and over-developed. Congress passed this act in 1968. The Wild and Scenic Rivers Act doesn't preserve the rivers as a national park. The idea is not to halt development or use of the river but to preserve the character of a river. |

FUNDRAISING EFFORTSMountain Trails Foundation is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of trail access for all non-motorized users. Our objectives are to promote, preserve, advocate and maintain local trails. The Foundation works with Federal, State and local government and with private property owners to achieve trail connections and to preserve access into and through developments. Our involvement has resulted in a system of 300+ miles of purpose built trails on public and private lands. -Trail building and restoration-Volunteering for races and events |

Best friends Animal Sanctuary And the work of Best Friends is supported entirely through the donations of our members and supporters. The animal society operates the nations largest sanctuary for homeless pets, provides adoption, spay/neuter, educational programs and publishes Best Friends, the nations largest all good news animal magazine. |
Volunteer efforts at BFAS include: assisting staff with daily cleaning and socializing of animals and their homes. We have also helped build miles of trails dogs and their prospective humans are able to use year round.

Our purpose is to protect and provide for animals while fostering an awareness of their importance in our lives. |
Our work: -volunteer for pet adoption storefront in Park City -Jobs include: walking dogs, grooming dogs and cats and assist in animal social behavior improvements for successful adoption. -volunteer twice annually for the Pet Superadoption Volunteer hours: 800 hours |

Ceramic arts students raise money and awareness through making bowls and hosting a dinner fundraiser through The Empty Bowls project. (see above.) ‘To work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth.’ This simple idea of giving families a source of food rather than short-term relief caught on and has continued for over 60 years. Kid's Cafe (a division of the Utah Food Bank) |
This organization provides three dinners each week for hundreds of at-risk children at more than a dozen low-income areas throughout Utah. Students raise money to donate to the local chapter of the Kid’s Café. These fundraisers occur throughout the year from our ceramic arts program to bake sales. |
