Fine Arts

Whether you're Monet, Picasso or an aspiring young artist, Oakley School recognizes everyone has perspectives to share and lessons to learn through the medium of art: sculpting excess to find success; infusing vibrant life on barren canvas; enacting humanity's truths on stage; or challenging assumptions through unique perceptions.

Knowledge, tolerance, and respect for life are some of the welcome traits of someone who loves the arts. Students find healthy methods of self-expression while developing their gifts and sharing their talents.

We offer art courses each trimester and module blocks ranging from introductory to advanced courses:

  • Drawing
  • Water color and oil painting
  • Charcoal and pastel
  • Ceramics
  • Sculpting
  • Black and white photography
  • Film studies
  • Print making
  • 3D design
  • Color theory

These courses are available within the academic curriculum and are designed to assist each student with their portfolio development or expose them to new mediums and methods of self-expression. We incorporate these courses into our module offerings with classes meeting on Fridays and Saturdays. Professionals in visual, performing and media arts help our students tap into their individual creativity in a warm, relaxed atmosphere. All students are required to take at least one art course each academic year, and not surprisingly, all have found they have something to say...or draw...or paint...or create.

In the last four years, Oakley School graduates were accepted into top art programs and schools in the country:
