Executive Director, Caleb Cottle, is the perfect choice for Oakley. He has a blend of experience and training that will allow the Oakley School to become even better. Caleb is licensed in recreation therapy, has worked with several different residential treatment and wilderness programs, executive leadership experience, an MBA and a knack for creative programming. Caleb is an outdoorsman and a family man. He and his wife are happy parents of five amazing kids and live in Heber City.
For those of you who love our outdoors nearby, and love fly fishing and climbing, you may find him standing in the Provo River or scaling our nearby rocks!
Head of School
After a long career in Information Technology, Brandon decided to follow his passion and finish his teaching degree to become a teacher and a coach. Brandon came to The Oakley School in the spring of 2013 after being the Director of Technology and teaching Engineering and various Technology Education courses for The Independent School in Wichita, KS.
Brandon believes in creating real-world, hands-on experiences for students to learn skills beyond the subject matter, including critical thinking, teamwork, creativity and problem solving. He enjoys getting to know his students to find the best way for them to learn and apply concepts, such as, the Growth Mindset and Grit to situations inside and outside the classroom. Brandon grew up in Kansas and raised two daughters there. He moved to Utah with his wife to have a new adventure. His oldest daughter is an RN in Phoenix and his youngest daughter attends college here in Utah. Outside the classroom Brandon loves sports, whether coaching or participating. He enjoys the outdoors and loves spending time with his family, gardening, playing with his dogs, antiquing and planning his outdoor Christmas display for the upcoming year.
Ernie Taylor grew up in Orem, Utah. He attended all three major universities in the state of Utah, graduating from BYU with a Bachelors, and the University of Utah with his Masters Degree in Social Work. Ernie has been working for the past 30 years in other RTCs holding various positions, including, Therapist, Residential Director, and Program Director. For the past 10 years he has been the Clinical Director of a large RTC.
Ernie's wife is from Brasil, and he loves traveling to visit her country. He has 4 children who are all teenagers, so he knows what is like to live with teenagers who already know everything. Ernie enjoys sports and all of his children are actively participating in many sports, he is often a "soccer mom" to his kids. He enjoys the Arts, sports and just about any outdoor activity!
John is licensed as both a recreational therapist and a Clinical Mental Health Counselor. He has worked with adolescents for more than twenty years, in a variety of treatment environments including: residential treatment, wilderness, group homes, and hospital settings. John loves to use the outdoors to connect the people he works with.
As a Dad of four boys John and his wife Jenny enjoys spending time with their family camping, swimming and attending their son’s different sports and scouting activities.
